Meet Joy, the first among over 500 #healthierPH Citizens to rank up and become a Community Leader of #healthierPH. We asked her a few questions and were amazed with what she has to say about her experience with the #healthierPH Volunteer Portal.
How do you feel that you are the first volunteer to become the Community Leader of #healthierPH?
I'm so happy when I found out that I'm the first #healthierPH Community Leader. I had been wanting to volunteer physically in any organization that helps people, but I don't get the chance. Good thing I learned about Unilab Foundation. Knowing that I'm helping our country to become healthier by doing volunteer projects online really feels good! My online activities are equivalent to 5 hours of service or 1000 pesos donation.
What did you do to rank up and become the first Community Leader of #healthierPH?
I completed the #HealthIsHappening: The 21-day Healthy Habit Challenge, where I posted my healthy commitment every day for 21 days. It's fun because it’s something for a cause, yet I benefit from it too. I also shared Unilab Foundation's projects on my Facebook account to make more people aware and start volunteering too. The more volunteers, the healthier we'll be!
Why did you join the #HealthIsHappening volunteer project?
I joined the #HealthIsHappening project because I want to stay healthy so I can live long and enjoy life to the fullest. I can do what makes me happy -- helping people. I can be a good example to everyone. I hope that in my simple ways, I can inspire people to do the same, and together, we can make the world a beautiful place to live in.

Joy Merced of San Fernando, La Union is a loving mom of two adorable kids, devoted wife to her husband, and a dependable friend. She loves life and does whatever it takes for her to be happy. Joy hopes that someday, she will be able to travel the world and inspire people.
